Djaraja Design Doodles

Description

This isn't the entire design page/canvas whathaveyou. I excluded a few doodles and all the writing because I don't want to give away everything about the upcoming comic before we're finished planning it. c:

I just figured it couldn't hurt to post up some things about the comic since it takes so long to get all these pictures done and they're probably going to get posted anyway at some point in time, so why not now?

I'm not actually one hundred percent happy with Djaraja's design. You may have noticed, her hairstyle is slightly changed here. I'm considering changing it further, but the hair was pretty much the very first thing about her I came up with in the first place, so changing it too much will make it seem like a totally different character. Which is kinda bad for me because I wanted her outfit to be somewhat practical for a thief rather than the typical billowing capes and tons of easily grab-able dangly bits seen in fantasy thieves. And don't even get me STARTED on female thieves wearing nothing covering their midriffs/thighs/arms alongside billowing capes and whatnot. :I
That being said, I'm thinking her hair might work better as a duller more grey shade, since every other character in the comic thus far has a more normal hair color.
I wanted to get something in there to cover her face, but I couldn't think of anything to easily work into the shirt thing I doodled out and fell in love with...xU I may go back and add in a short cloak/hood sort of looking thing.

A bad habit of mine is drawing elves really exaggeratedly pointy. And somewhere along the line, I started drawing her face more elf-like than I had at first so I had to go back and fit it here since her face was too long and thin. I imagine Djaraja as a bunch of triangles. Compared to my other two characters for the comic, she's all sharp edges and angles, and I like to think that she moves kind of like a squirrel. Really agile and quick & kind of impressive to look at like that, but really not all that graceful when you think about it. She's more about precision than putting on a show.

I may post up design sheet/doodle pages for Keall and Arias as well if anyone is interested in them. And maybe more other things if the mood strikes.

Damn! Please keep rolling out these kick-ass lady designs!! The world needs more!!
I think elves feel more angular anyway, giving off a more intense presence, so that's great!
